Race day at the Resevoir. The Pony Express Run was held today and there was a very good turnout, about 120 runners.
This is alway a great event. Altho you have to carry water, you do not have to have to carry as much since water is provided at about 4 1/2 miles into the course and at 9 1/2 miles. Lightens the load a bit.
Conditions were good however, there were a few wet/muddy spots since there had been a good rain the day before. Water levels were way down, I think because the feed into the resevoir was off for maintenance. Weather was chilly to start but warmed nicely as the day progressed.
This is a great time of the year to experience the resevoir. Temperatures are perfect for running early or better for hiking if you start mid morning.
