Ran the trail today and it was in great shape. I did not notice any problems associated with runoff or washout on the trail. The builders did a good job on this one.

I listened to the advice of Coloradorunnner (Jerry) about running this trail and started down my the stadium. There is ample parking where the trail crosses Academy Drive, just to the north of the stadium. This is about the 5 mile mark from the official trailhead. The reason for using this point as a start is that the bulk of the uphill work comes in the first half of the run, leaving a nice set of downhill to flat sections to finish with. Since this is a strong effort run, every little bit helps.

I point out in the topic on Blodgett, that you can access the Falcon trail from over in Perigrine. The trail from there is about 1 3/4 miles each way so it would make the loop and trail a 16 1/2 mile run.

I also noticed that just past where the Blodgett trail meets the Falcon trail, there is a trail to the left marked 713 which I think will take you up West Monument Creek to Rampart Reservoir. I will probably explore this at some point in the future.

I took my handy camera along on this run and took some general shots of the trail at each of the mile posts so that you can get an idea of the trail. See the website at http://farruner.com
