The wildflowers are officially out of control!! Definitely peaking. Take your camera and enjoy primo conditions. Saw 3 huge turkeys as well.

Since everyone enjoyed the wild flowers, Coleen and I headed over that way on Thursday. We started at the Water tank on Blodgett Drive rather than drive over to the academy. It adds a couple miles each way but it is a short drive from the house making it easy to access.

I agree, the flowers were awesome. There was one point where the trail turns and heads north, that the intensity was so great even a color deficient person like me was awed.

That south /west section of the trail has always been my favorite area. Before it was included into the Falcon Trail, I used to run it at least once a week. There is a small turn out on Pine Drive about 1/2 mile past the Fire Station that leads into that trail area at the point it turns north.
