Ran Ute on 9/26: The trails in many areas are very rutted from the rainy summer. The biking would be marginal and and as always is fairly technical in many spots. It is OK for running but a lot of the usable lines are rock strewn, so suitable shoes would be a good idea. There has been some bear activity there lately, so be alert early AM or late PM, especially at the west end of the valley. Good news with all the rain, I've only seen one rattler there this summer!
