I was doing hill repeats on the south side of the park - behind the townhomes by the park - on Wednesday night, July 30th. As I ran down the hill for my last repeat I spotted a large rattlesnake crossing the dirt road. The snake was about 100 yards from the gate, behind the townhomes, right where the ponderosa pines are at the bend as you go up the hill. The snake was somewhere between 3-4 feet long and, apparently, well fed and healthy. He made a U-turn as I approached but showed me his 1.5" set of rattles.
That was the first rattlesnake that I've ever seen in Ute Valley.
