About a week ago, I ran the reservoir to enjoy the fall / early winter conditions. The trail was in good shape with a little more wetness on the trails but nothing serious.
When I reached the dam, I was surprised that there we no cars. At the other end, I observed that the gates were closed and locked so I have to assume that this is a winter shutdown. Restrooms were locked and I did not see anyone on either side of the dam.
Water was flowing again into the reservoir after being shutoff and the water levels had risen but I won't try to guess how much. There were a couple of sand bars visible the time before that I did not see this time so a few feet at the least.
I was hoping that this would be open so I could take some winter photos at a couple spots a mile or so off the dam. Don't relish doing 7-8 miles in deeper snow.
