I guess winter has arrived. I hit the Open space trails today since I did not feel like trying to fight snow for a longer run. Trails in the area were about 4-5 inches of fresh stuff. The lower trails have been well trampled which was not too bad for now but if it stays cold, the ruts and step will harden and make it rough going.

The upper trails were unused and it was a bit tricky to find some of the trails in sections where no one had been yet. Some of the steeper areas were a bit slick but not unpassable. I went about 1/3 of the way up Blodgett then crossed over to the other side of the valley and came back through the AFA trails

I am considering trying to find if there is a trail that would take me up to the top of the range around where the road ends. I am thinking that it would probably take me up dry creek. If anyone has explored this area, please chime in here with any details.

Let's do a shuttle run one weekend before there's too much snow on the Front Range. I propose leaving a car at the Blodgett trailhead and shuttling down to the Hole in the Wall and picking up the Palmer Trail to Blodgett. Maybe then we can explore this other trail you're talking about.

Anyone else interested??

Funny you should mention hole in the wall...was just thinking I needed to explore this area better than the short run we did that one time. I am game anytime after the 1/2 marathon.
