Here, my tip to runners is simple:

If you have been running without problems for a while and start having nagging aches and pains, THINK SHOES.

Most running shoes will last between 300 - 500 miles depending on brand.

If you don't track mileage per shoe, it might just be a good think to consider. Shoes are sneaky (pun intended) and changes are gradual but suddenly you find yourself having issues. If you look and see you are in the range of shoes wearing out, it may be time to get a new pair. IF you do it early enough, you can alternate new and old and maybe get a few more runs out of the old before they are die completely.

Keeping the same brand/model is most of the time good if they work for you but be aware that there is no guarantee that the shoe companies are going to keep the characteristics the same so evaluate new shoes carefully and pay attention to your body's signals.
