Today I was on the foothills trail which is just south of the main open space trails and joins with one of the open space trails at about 1.15 miles. The trail was in good condition. There has been a lot of rain lately which for the upper part of this trail is good. It is very steep so a little moisture helps to keep the trail from being too slippery. The loose soil and granite can be like standing on marbles when it is very dry so the moisture reduces this somewhat.
